Ukrainian Pop-star and devout Ukrainian Catholic Taras Kurchyk was an absolute hit every time he took the stage in Melbourne, during Days in the Eparchy. He performed during each of the various concerts, the cabaret and even sang two of his sacred songs unaccompanied in church during communion. In contrast to the moving melancholy of his sacred singing in church, each time he strutted the stage in concert, the effect was more like lighting than the warm glow of the Holy Spirit girls screamed, everyone clapped and many prised themselves from their chairs onto the dance floor! Great voice, supreme confidence and…wow…what dance moves!

The great thing about Taras, though, was quite un-pop-star-like Christian humility. He had a beaming smile and warm welcome for absolutely everyone! When his scheduled performance at the closing Zabava in Sydney was cancelled, he didn’t disappear into his trailer with a huff but shrugged and spent the night mixing and mining with everyone…on the dance floor, of course.

Taras now travels to Perth to perfom a series of concerts there before returning to Sydney for a final solo show on the 3^rd August!
